Taj Mahal, one of the 7 wonders of the World, is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Taj Mahal is a World Heritage Tomb. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shajahan in the memory of his wife. Taj Mahal is the pride of India. The Taj Mahal, is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the southern bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632. 

The Taj Mahal is the "Jewel of Muslim art in India" and one of the Universally Admired Masterpieces of the World's Heritage.

In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with this, it has been described as one of the finest human works of the world heritage, universally praised. The Taj Mahal has also been declared a Gem of Islamic Art of India.

The Taj Mahal attracts between 20 and 4 million visitors each year, of which over 200,000 are foreigners. Most of the tourists come here in the months of October, November and February. Pollution-causing vehicles are banned around this monument. Tourists can either walk from the parking lot, or can also take an electric bus service. Khawaspuras will be restored and used as a new tourist information center. A small settlement located to the south of the Taj Mahal is called Tajganj.

One of the most famous places of Agra, Fatehpur Sikri which is located 40 km away from Agra. Fatehpur Sikri is a historical place, it was built by the Mughal emperor Emperor Akbar. Akbar had decided to make Sikri his capital and for this purpose he also built a grand fort here and in 1573 from here he traveled to conquer Gujarat. ... Since then this place is called Fatehpur Sikri.

Fatehpur Sikri is the best example of Muslim architecture. The Fatehpur Sikri Masjid is said to be a copy of the Mosque of Mecca and its designs are taken from Hindu and Parsi architecture. The entrance of the mosque is 54 meters high Buland Darwaza which was constructed in 1573 AD. To the north of the mosque is the shrine of Sheikh Salim Chishti where childless women come to pray.

The highest building here is the Buland Darwaza, which is 280 feet above the ground. After 52 steps the spectator reaches inside the door. The Buland Darwaza was built by Akbar in 1602 AD as a monument to his Gujarat-conquest. Through this door one has to enter the dargah of Sheikh. On the left is the Jama Masjid and in front is the tomb of Sheikh. Near the mazar or mausoleum are the graves of their relatives. There is a small marble lake in the shade of a dense tree near the mosque and the tomb.

Ghiyas-ud-din Bera who was a minister in Jahangir's court. This tomb was constructed in 1626_28 AD. Known as Baby Taj, there are many things in this tomb which were later adopted while building the Taj Mahal. People say that in many places the carvings here look more beautiful than the Taj Mahal. Another attraction of this tomb is its central Asian style dome. The gardens and paths here add to its beauty even more.

This tomb is dedicated to Allama Afzal Khal Mullah Shukrullah of Shiraz. Shukrullah was a famous Parsi poet and scholar who later became the Prime Minister of Shah Jahan.
